Wi-Fi Hotspot Lending Program

hotspot

Pennsauken Free Public Library (PFPL) is pleased to announce the addition of mobile wireless hotspots to our circulating collection.

Whether you'll be working from home, doing homework, job searching, streaming movies on Hoopla, downloading books from Overdrive, or visiting family and friends via digital conference software, our new wireless hotspots can help keep you connected everywhere you go.

Our mobile wireless hotspots can be used anywhere in the continental United States that are serviced by T-Mobile and Sprint's wireless networks. You don't need to be a T-Mobile or Sprint customer to use them.

Want to check one out and boost your Internet connection wherever you go? Here's how:

  • Patrons ages 18+ with an up-to-date library account in good standing (no fines or overdue items) and photo ID can check out mobile hotspots for 14 days. If a hotspot is returned late, the borrower is subject to a $5/day extended use fee.

  • If your account is expired, or is blocked due to fines and/or overdue items, please call us to get specifics, and visit the library to settle your account prior to requesting use of a hotspot

  • Hotspots are not eligible for renewals

  • Hotspots are available on a first come, first served basis, with no waitlist if they are all checked out

  • Check on hotspot availability using the hotspot's page in our online catalog, then call the library (856.665.5959 ext. 3) to request to borrow one, if one is available. We will set aside a hotspot for you with a one-hour hold. Once your temporary hold is placed, you must pick up the hotspot within the hour. If you're unable to pick up the hotspot within an hour, it will be made available for other patrons to request and borrow

  • Each household can check out up to one hotspot at a time

Included with each mobile hotspot carrying case includes:

  • Hotspot unit

  • USB cable

  • AC power adapter

Internet connectivity is dependent on T-Mobile's and Sprint's wireless coverage. You do not need to be a T-Mobile or Sprint subscriber to use the hotspots.

We kindly ask that hotspots be returned directly to the Circulation Desk. Please do not return them to the book return bins.

For more information or help using the hotspots, please call 856-665-5959 ext. 3 or email askalibrarian@pennsaukenlibrary.org

We hope you enjoy this exciting addition to PFPL's collection!
