A Joyful Return to Your New Library!

Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

A Message from the Library Director

Dear Pennsauken Community,

This fall has been an extraordinary and memorable time for the Pennsauken Free Public Library. After years of planning and months of preparation, we officially reopened our doors to the public on Saturday, October 25, and we were overwhelmed by the excitement and warmth of the community. It was wonderful to welcome our patrons back into the library—seeing familiar faces return and meeting so many new ones as everyone explored our beautiful new space.

The weekend leading up to the reopening was equally special. On Friday, October 24, we held a Ribbon Cutting ceremony with state officials and local leaders to celebrate this important milestone for Pennsauken. That evening, we hosted a private reception for family and friends, where we had the privilege of honoring several dedicated staff members for their many years of service:

MaureenMarthaSusan

Maureen Parente — 29 years, Martha Vega — 25 years, and Susan Starts — 20 years.

It was a meaningful opportunity to recognize their commitment and contributions to our library’s history and future.

Opening weekend was busy and full of joy as patrons explored the new facility, discovered updated services, and participated in our Welcome Back Library-Wide Scavenger Hunt. Seeing the enthusiasm and appreciation from the community reminded us why this work matters so deeply.

As we enter this new chapter, the Library staff extends sincere thanks for your patience, encouragement, and unwavering support throughout the transition. We are thrilled to continue serving you in a modern, welcoming, and innovative space designed for learning, connection, and community growth.

Warm regards,
Tanya Finney-Estrada
