Circulation Service

How can I request materials?

Materials can be suggested through your Library account, or by visiting the Library and filling out a paper request form.

For online suggestions, visit: https://catalog.pennsaukenlibrary.org/cgi-bin/koha/opac-main.pl to log in to your account. Your username is your library card number and password is the last four digits of your phone number on file. Once logged in, select the tab “Purchase Suggestions” and then select “New Purchase Suggestion.” From there you can fill out the necessary information to request materials.

How much are overdue fines?

The Pennsauken Free Public Library is happily Fine Free as of January 2023. Fine Free includes no charge of late fines on overdue materials such as: Books, DVDs, Audiobooks, and CDs. That being said, if the material is damaged or never returned, borrowers will be charged accordingly for replacement or repair.

Certain materials have $5 per day extended use fees. These materials are: Mobile Hot Spots, Video Games, Launchpads, Museum Passes, and Laptops. Failure to return these items in a timely manner will result in replacement charges.

Materials that are owned by other libraries and borrowed through Interlibrary Loan are still subject to fines.

If my library materials are very overdue, are my borrowing privileges suspended?

Borrowing privileges will be suspended on patron accounts that have overdue item(s) for 21 days or an extended use fee of $5.00. Suspension of borrowing privileges includes access to online resources such as Hoopla and Overdrive.

May I have someone else pick up holds for me?

Another person may pick up a hold for a patron if that person has the requesting patron's library card.

Can I pause a hold?

Yes, you can pause a hold that is “not ready.”

While your hold is paused, your position in the hold queue is skipped over until the hold is resumed. You will stay in the hold queue and not lose your place there while holds are filled for other patrons.
